Experience farm life at a real goat farm!

70 goats from Hole gard are on the mountain pasture in Dyrkolbotn in the summer. The goats graze freely on mountain pastures from July until the end of September.

Dyrkolbotn is located 350 meters above sea level in Romarheimsdalen in the western part of Stølsheimen.

Brown goat's cheese is milked and cheesed here throughout the season.

At our summer farm you can experience farm life. You can try your hand at milking, and if it suits you, you can make your own goat's cheese to take home with you.

After a good breakfast, the tour starts with a short drive to Tyssebotn, where we board a local ferry, and the local skipper Tore tells us a story and takes us on a great boat trip to Vikanes or Romarheim. From there, you'll be picked up and driven to the Dyrkolbotn farmhouse. After a visit to the hut, there will be a tasty lunch at Dyrkolbotn Fjellstove, where you will also hear the story of the Dyrkolbotn farm.

For those who wish, it is possible to rent a canoe and go for a paddle. At around 15.00 it's time for the trip back to Fjordslottet.

After this great experience, you can enjoy the good life at Fjordslottet with a rest, something good in a cup or glass, freshly baked home-made pastries and a tasty 3-course dinner in the evening.
