Farm visit at Hauane gard

Come and visit Lillian and Sigurd and see cows, heifers, calves and sheep in the pasture, chickens, chickens and cats in the yard and join them in the vegetable field and taste the good taste of what grows there.

Hauane gard is a traditional farm in western Norway that produces dairy and meat and also grows vegetables on a small scale - without the use of artificial fertilizers or pesticides. Farmers Lillian and Sigurd run the farm together with good help from the family, who take an active part in the farm work.

The farm is located in a beautiful cultural landscape and popular hiking area at Revheim, about 4 km from Lonevåg and 9 km from Valestrand. On the farm you will meet both the younger and older generations who have many exciting and interesting stories to tell about farming and food production in the present and past.

Rune, a retired farmer and builder, can tell you a vivid story about life on the farm in the old days, and take you on a tour of Gamla House from 1833 and Gamlafloren from 1848.

In Oppigardsløo from 1909, you will see and be told about the traditional and special building technique with brackish roofing and stave buildings.

For several generations, the farm has been involved in ancillary industries related to construction work, but wool has also been processed into slippers.
